Horse Overview
Hector's House is great looking, excellently bred 5 year old gelding who is related to numerous winners. His sire Tobougg was a winner of 3 races and placed in many others (inc. 3rd in the Derby). Further back in the breeding line, Hector has links to the likes of Barathea and Sadler's Wells.
Hector has already shown that he is a very genuine, versatile sort who appears to enjoy his racing. He has raced on the flat, over hurdles and has been schooled over fences. He is a previous winner (ridden by R.Thornton- trained by E.Williams) and has been placed on many other occasions. He also won a charity race in 2010 and may well have won a further race at Plumpton if he had not fallen at the last hurdle.
In the short time Hector has been with us (July 2011), he appears to have matured and seems to be getting stronger all the time. He is proving to be a real star with shareholders. In his first three races for the club he has returned to the winners enclosure which has provided shareholders with wonderful experiences (quote - just a wonderful feeling!). He has schooled well over fences which is another option we can consider during the coming year. With a handicap rating of 87 (hurdles) we expect Hector to continue to give shareholders some thrills throughout 2012. He is race fit and given his versatility is expected to race throughout the year. Hector has proven ability in most ground conditions but is probably best suited by a cut in the ground.
Nikki Evans (trainer) view - He seems to enjoy his new surroundings and appears to be improving all the time. There is no doubt he has ability and with a competitive handicap mark, I am looking forward to some good performances. He appears to be a very versatile horse which will give us plenty of race options and should provide shareholders with lots of fun.
